你好！Did you know that I am now a member of 'Bike for a better city' ?
We want the city to draw special lanes for bicycles on some of the main streets, because when bicycle riders must use the same lanes as cars, there are accidents.
I don't think it's a good idea. My parents work on the street. This would slow down traffic and if there is less traffic, they will have less business.
But people live too far from downtown to travel by bike !
But what about my friend Pauline who got head injuries because of a car accident? She used to be an A+ student, but now her As have become Cs.
But the city government has not yet decided what to do ! It wants to keep everyone happy. And in the United States, for every two people there is a car. I believe we should follow America's example.
But I read a paper that said that in Chinese cities, the ratio is one motor vehicle for every 2,000 people. The Third World should steer future transportation in the right direction by following China's example.
